TimberTech Legacy Decking Benefits

Low Maintenance

Composite Decking requires far less maintenance than wood – no sanding, staining, or sealing – saving you money in the long term.

Recyclable Materials

TimberTech Decking is composed of approximately 85% recycled materials, making this a clean and sustainable material choice.

Non-Toxic Materials

Legacy boards contains no toxic chemicals. It is absolutely safe for children and pets, as well as barefoot walking.

25-Year Warranty

Legacy Decking has a 30-Year performance and stain and fade warranty for increased reliability and ease-of-mind.

Legacy Decking – Why Premium Decking is Better

It isn’t always immediately obvious why high end composite materials are better than entry-level boards. Here are some of the advantages that the reserve collection has over other composite materials:

30 Year Warranty

Legacy Decking has a 30 year warranty protecting your investment from defects. If you find that your deck is fading in places, or that it is warped even though it has been installed correctly, TimberTech will return a large portion of what you paid for it.

Capped on all 4 sides

Capping prevents mold growth, and fading, as well as providing consistency to the material. Most capped composites are capped on 1 or 3 sides; TimberTech Composite Decking is capped on all 4 sides for added security.

Damage Resistance

The outer cap is reinforced to prevent most damage, and greatly reduce the risk of scratching, burns, cracks, dents, and stains over entry-level products.

Solid Board Profile

Deck materials come in a variety of sizes and profiles. However, everyone agrees that the solid board profile is the most durable and reliable, least prone to warping, cracking, splitting, etc… High end composites like Legacy will always use a solid board profile to guarantee you get the best product for your money.

Reserve Decking Premium Composite Material

Mold Guard Technology

As well as containing the regular treatment of mold inhibitors, and protective capping, Legacy Decking uses TimberTech’s patented Mold Guard Technology to prevent any chance of mold growth on your deck.

High Detail Finish

Lower level materials will use simple solid colors and basic embossed patterns; Legacy Decking is uniquely streaked, highly detailed, multi-chromatic, and uses photorealistic wood grain patterns to enhance the look of your project.

TimberTech Composite Decking Legacy Collection FAQ

How do you install TimberTech Legacy Decking?

Height, Spacing, Joists and Recommended Fasteners

Elgi Haxhimanka
Elgi Haxhimanka, Senior Project ManagerDeck Builder, Certified Engineer
  • Boards should be installed at minimum ~1.5″ above the ground, and debris should be cleared for ventilation.
  • If you install without clips, keep a 3/16″-1/4″ spacing between the boards to allow water to flow off your deck.
  • Boards should be installed on joists no further than 16′ apart.
    • On diagonals and stair treads, joists should be 12′ apart.
  • ConcealLoc Clips are recommended by the manufacturer.
    • Trex Universal Fasteners and Camo Edge Clips have been tested to work.
  • Edge boards should be installed using screws and plugs, or starter clips.
    • If using screws, it is highly recommended you use 2 screws per joist.
  • Install Risers and Fascia using TOPLoc Fascia Screws, 2-3 screws are recommended per joist.
    • Nails are not recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Use Joist Tape whenever possible. This will prolong the life of your deck frame, and deck boards.
